Primary is a small clothing company started by two moms who feel strongly that pink isn't only for girls, blue isn't only for boys, and kids' clothes shouldn't have slogans telling them who they should become. Their mission is "Every color for every kid. With no labels and no slogans. Super soft and sustainable fabrics, for clothes that all play together. And all backed by the kind of customer service you thought didn’t exist."
This is another one of my very favorite places to order clothes for my daughter. Since she has outgrown two of my other top companies that specialize more in baby clothes, well over half of her toddler clothes come from Primary!
When they launched in 2015, the Primary Sustainability Initiative was started and will be fulfilled this year! Congrats Primary on this major accomplishment!! 😍 You can be confident about your child wearing their clothing as nearly all of the fabrics are OEKO-TEX certified to be free of over 300 harmful chemicals. In 2019, they started Feel Good Demin, their first sustainable synthetic fabric which is made from recycled materials. They also introduced some styles in 2020 made of GOTS certified cotton. To top it of, they eliminated all plastic from their packaging and shipping materials!!! I actually received my daughter's non-toxic swimwear for this summer yesterday in a compostable envelope with each item wrapped in a compostable band instead of being in individual plastic bags!! It's amazing to think that the packaging used to ship my daughter's clothes will end up helping us grow plants in our garden!
By focusing on simplicity and avoiding overly trendy styles, their clothes stay relevant through the years. The savings from this concept as well as avoiding the so-called retail "middle man" are passed on to you as their clothes are quite affordable, and they are constantly running promotions. Their clothes are made in India, Vietnam and China in facilities that are held to a high ethical standard.
Giving back is a priority, and Primary has donated many clothing items nationwide over the years. During the pandemic they pledged $1 million in donations through Baby2Baby, a group that provides children in poverty with the basic necessities they need and deserve
